DSIRE – Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency

Established in 1995, the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency (DSIRE) is an ongoing project of the North Carolina Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). It is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), primarily through the Office of Planning, Budget and Analysis (PBA). The site is administered by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), which is operated for DOE by the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC.

The DSIRE web site provides information about renewable energy and energy efficiency incentives and policies in effect in the United States. Relevant incentives and policies established by the federal government, state governments, local governments, utilities and non-profit organizations are included in DSIRE. (more…)

How to Recycle It!

Step 1: Prepare recyclables for collection:

  • Rinse or wipe out food residue from containers
  • Rinse and remove lids
  • Cut (not fold) cardboard into 3-foot by 3-foot sections
  • Place all recyclables in your rollout cart

Step 2: Place the recycling rollout cart 2 feet from the curb and at least 3 feet away from other collection items (garbage rollout carts, yard waste, and bulky items) and obstacles (mailboxes, vehicles, telephone poles, etc.)

Step 3: Place your recycling rollout car at the curb no mater than 6:30 AM on your scheduled collection day/week and remobe it no later than midnight that same day. (more…)
